South American Initiative is a U.S. based non - profit organization providing food and medical care for orphans , sick children , newborn infants , expectant mothers , and seniors , and food and shelter to abandoned dogs and zoo animals in Venezuela .
Operating in the face of one of the most severe humanitarian and economic crises on the continent, the organization works tirelessly to navigate obstacles such as hyperinflation, widespread shortages of supplies, and major logistical constraints. Its mission extends beyond immediate relief, striving to rebuild community support networks and offer a beacon of hope and dignity to the most vulnerable segments of society, who disproportionately bear the brunt of the country's complex emergency.
